pop! goes the fun at Denver’s Curtis Hotel
STAY HAPPY IN THIS POP-CULTURE THEMED DOWNTOWN DENVER BOUTIQUE HOTEL
The Curtis Hotel held it’s grand opening on Bart Simpson’s birthday in 2008 (April 19), a pop culture reference which is not at all lost on this bright and bubbly boutique hotel located in downtown Denver. The Curtis is all about unleashing your innerchild, which is perfect if your inner child is actually 3″ high and could care less about thread count, but does appreciate the Cartoon Network playing 24/7 on the big screen in the lobby.

LOCATION
The Curtis Hotel
1405 Curtis Street, downtown Denver, across from the Denver Performing Arts Center and near the 16th St. Mall
PLAYING
• Stop by the 5 & Dime, adjacent to the front desk for candy, soda, retro toys and gadgets (candy and soda for the P’s of course, you’ll share the other stuff with the kids)
• The Corner Office restaurant and martini bar is right onsight. No driving!
• The Cartoon Network is playing 24/7 in the lobby, as well as a Wii
• The downtown location makes it easy for the whole family to get outside and roam the urban jungle
EATING
• Unless your kid is a Junior Gourmet, The Corner Office menu isn’t likely to get them excited, usual kid-friendly items like mac + cheese comes loaded with lobster and the grilled cheese layers on the provolone, cheddar and tomato and is served on a ciabatta, but there’s waffles available for every meal and the ‘bigger rooms’ come with a refrigerator; the suites include a built-in bar area (in case your kids eat martinis)
SLEEPING
• Each of the 13 floors have their own pop culture theme, from the 6th ‘Fun and Games’ floor to ‘The Dance Floor’ on 12, and I’d skip the 13th floor unless the kids won’t be spooked out by The Shining and Psycho references
TIPS
• Dogs allowed, for a $15/day cleaning fee…not sure if that includes poopy-scooping
